~ Romance is in the Air and Simple & Sweet Fridays #102 ~

I love Valentine's Day and all the romantic things that go with it!
A girl can never have enough flowers, champagne and chocolate!
Setting the table was easy to do.
Red wine glasses, red votives, and red roses.

Vintage dishes and silverware add to the special occasion.
I stamped some old pages from a book with a red heart and
strips of linen stamped "with love".
Tied it all together with a dried rose to give it a vintage look
 at each place setting.

I even cut some velvet hearts to place on the table too!
An old silver platter of my mother's,
to place the vase on.
Focaccia bread with hearts made out of butter.
I love the vintage tablecloth.
Dreaming of a wonderful Valentine's.
Chocolate kisses in little crystal glasses.

Some Valentine postcards to add a little whimsy.
Butter cookies sprinkled with confectioners sugar.
Heart cookies in different sizes
look so pretty displayed on my new cake stand.
Love you all...
and hope you all get a little sweet treat on
 Valentine's Day!!

~A David Austin Rose From Harry~

 I'm so excited!!
I just received a
  David Austin Rose!
Our daughter, Katie's boyfriend, Harry,
ordered it for Stan and me as a gift!
How lucky are we. It's called,
 "Jude the Obscure".
Can't wait to see it this Summer!!
I wanted to share with you also,
a Cake Stand Harry gave me for Christmas.
He brought it all the way over from England.
I love Cath Kidston and all her wonderful designs.
I love it.
Speaking of flowers,
I couldn't resist this beautiful blue hydrangea.
So pretty!!
Our forsythia is starting to bloom now.
I love the yellow flowers on it.
I can never have enough cabbages for the garden.
We were gardening this weekend and Stan placed the
Heart Stepping Stones in a new area.
Can't wait to see the new bulbs come up!
I was seeing Hearts in the garden everywhere.

I started to make some decorations for the Valentine's table.
I'll share with you our Valentine's table
this week at Simple & Sweet Friday's.
Candies out for the kids.

My friend, Margie, surprised me with Red Roses today.
Thank you, dear friend!!
You made my day!

~Valentine Rosettes and Simple & Sweet Fridays #48~

It was raining in San Diego today and I decided to get out all my Valentine scrapbook paper. I have been collecting all year long, wanting to do a project with them.
I've thought I'd try and make Valentine Rosettes.
I just starting cutting out hearts
and adding bits and pieces together.

They made a pretty Valentine collage.
I also wanted to share with you my surprise
that I got in the mail last night from Stan.
What could it be?
A package from Victorian Trading Company.
He surprised me with a pair of new pink rose boots for the garden.
I've been wanting them since I saw them in their catalogue.
He must have known it was going to rain today.
I felt like a little girl playing in the puddles.
It feels good to act like a kid.
