Cottage Rose

I really don't know what kind of rose this is,
but it is beautiful in every way.
Looking at it with the morning
light steals my heart.
Each petal seems to tell a story.
Maybe a love story that never happened.
How fragile love is and how
 we should hold onto it.
In the garden there are many
stories to be told.
Always ready to be listened to.
Take a moment to enjoy it.
The conversation will be well worth it.

Romantic Homes" A Dream Come True"

Romantic Homes
I am on cloud 9 right now.
Romantic Homes made a dream come true for me.
I wasn't sure if I was going to be featured in the
We Love/ Make it article for March 2012.

Of course, you can dream.
Today my dream came true.
The issue came out and I peeked inside the magazine and couldn't believe what I saw. There was my project of Parisian switch plates and my eyes got bigger and I started to cry in excitement.
It is such an honor to have my name in
Romantic Homes
with all the other women who I admire so much.
Thank you, Meryl Schoenbaum, Executive Editor and Hillary Black, Contributing Editor for Romantic Homes Magazine.
Hope you get a chance to see the article in the magazine. Look for us on Etsy with the French Parisian switch plates and more designs in the near future. Thank you to all my friends and family for the support they have given me to make my dream come true.

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was my favorite holiday when I was little, because at school you could give cards to all your friends in class. You could be as creative as you wanted to be. This little house I made this year out of cardboard and then decorated with papers and trim.
It reminded me of the times when I was little and how much fun it was to use your imagination.
Designing with candy is fun.
Who doesn't love chocolate?
Pink is such a pretty color,
especially for straws and jordan almonds in a martini glass.
Our little Pierre holding a miniature Valentine's cake and cards.
A little box of chocolates and gifts waiting to be opened...
A beautiful etched cake plate with chocolate strawberries.
 Angels watching over
the heart mirror.
I love our Garden of Hearts collection from our family vacations.
Stan's mom, Mary, enjoying our sunny weather in our garden.
Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day with their love ones.

Rainy Day in San Diego

Flowers in bloom in the garden.
After the rain in San Diego this week, the flowers were just starting to show their first blooms.
The rose petals are so fragile.
It's exciting going outside and seeing all the new flowers everywhere.
Being in the house all winter with the holidays, it's always like another world in our garden.

In San Diego the weather is always perfect for gardening.

How vibrant the colors are.

I love this window separating different sections of the garden.

On the path a miniature daffodil.
Love the quince blossoms.
Our First Limes
Looking forward to the rain again.

Happy 8th Birthday "Our Lovable Maggie"

Our precious Maggie just turned 8 years old.
We had surprised our daughter, Carly with Maggie for her birthday. She was so small then that she fit into a laundry basket and that's how we surprised Carly when we picked her up from school.
The princess is tired.
One of her presents was Rachel Ashwell's sheets, very shabby chic. She loves them.
She looks so lady like waiting patiently.
Yes Maggie, you are a princess.
She enjoyed every bite of her birthday treat.
Don't bother me I need my beauty sleep.
Happy Birthday Maggie.
We Love You
